DIRECTIONS LOCATION
Peterborough and Lakefield are on the Trent Severn Waterway in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes tourism region, about a 90-minute drive from Toronto, Canada's largest city.
There is a divided four lane highway to Toronto (Highway 35/115).
From Ottawa, it is a three hour drive west along Highway 7.
FROM TORONTO
Take the Highway 35/115 exit north from Highway 401. Peterborough is about a 45-minute drive from that point.
FROM TORONTO GOING THROUGH PETERBOROUGH
If you prefer to travel through Peterborough, take The Parkway exit to Lansdowne Street (fourth stoplight after leaving the highway). Turn right (east) on Lansdowne for about two kilometres to George Street. Turn north (left) on George Street. About half way through town, it will become Water Street, continuing north. Remain on Water until you get to Trent University, as you leave town, past the Riverview Park and Zoo on your right. Turn right at Trent University (Nassau Mills Road) and proceed through the four-way stop. Nassau Mills Road becomes County Road 32, or River Road, as it passes through the Trent campus. Continue on that road, along the east bank of the river, for about five kilometres. RiverNorth is No. 4067, on your right, the first piece of property north of Lock 24 of the Trent Severn Waterway. That lock will be on your left. A Centennial Wetland is on the right. RiverNorth is immediately north of the wetland, on the right (east) side.
FROM TORONTO BYPASS PETERBOROUGH
If you are coming from Toronto and would like to bypass Peterborough, remain on 115/35 as it skirts the city and ends at the lights at Television Road. Go through the lights and continue on Television Road for about three kilometres to County Road 4 (a four-way stop). Turn right and follow County Road 4 for about a kilometre and a half to University Road. You will see a small fire station on your right. Turn left on to University Road and follow it for about two more kilometres to the river and Nassau Mills Road. Turn right on Nassau Mills Road, which becomes River Road, and follow it along the riverbank for about five kilometres to RiverNorth, 4067 River Road.
FROM OTTAWA
Take Highway 7 into Peterborough and turn right on Television Road. Then follow the directions immediately above.
